Dear Mother & Father

        I received your letter yesterday and was very happy to hear from you. We were paid off Wednesday and Anson has sent home a check of $120.00. You will give Mr. Robbins 25.00 Miss Perry 15.00 Mrs. Sally H. Davis 20.00. We intend to send a small box home by express containing some letter which we wish to preserve as we cannot carry them with us very well. I send a package of letters that I received from Nellie. Please keep them safely until I return. We expect to leave Annapolis tomorrow if nothing happens to prevent. The money we send home will keep you off the poor farm a while. We are busy getting ready to leave so I must close. Remember us in your prayers.
