GOODELL FAMILY LETTERS- #42

Anson to Parents

Brookfield
Aug. 1, 1865

Dear Father

Your favor came to hand –

I saw Lamb last Eve and arranged the term differently. He says that if he can get his Wife consent we can have the place anytime before spring & settle in the Spring. His plans did not work as expected so that he will want to occupy it till Spring. We received a letter from Edwin stating he was not well enough to come. His leg has commenced troubling him mare than usual but if he remained quiet he did not anticipate any trouble.

It looks quite doubtful about getting that place. However we will trust that to Providence.

                                    Good night

                                    Your Son

                                           A.P.

Tell Mother:

Ellen is very glad of her pursuits.
